About Our School

Mission

To provide our preschool children with the highest quality education and childcare in a safe, stimulating, warm, and friendly environment.

Vision

To be a leading institute of progressive early childhood education by developing and implementing programs focusing on age appropriate activities that contribute to the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development of each child.

PHILOSOPHY

The basic principles of a Progressive School are as follows:

  1. Every child is unique.

  2. Children develop at their own pace and present different developmental needs and concerns.

  3. Children have a natural yearning to learn and understand their surroundings.

  4. Children are active thinkers and are always in the process of creating and recreating their definition of the world through active exploration, discovery and play.

  5. Children develop holistically and should be understood in his totality as a physical, emotional, social and intellectual human being.

  6. Learning is a socially shared experience with adults and other children in the school and home setting.

  7. The family and home environment exert a vital influence in propelling the development of the child.

  8. Teachers act as facilitators in the children’s learning process.

OUR CURRICULUM

Our curriculum is organized into Themes where different subject areas like Math, Reading, Language, Science, Writing, Art, Dramatic Play, Music and Movement are integrated. Our daily activities include structured and unstructured, teacher-initiated and child-chosen, individual-group learning activities and play.

Incorporated in our Curriculum are Yoga and Children’s Musical Theatre. Yoga helps develop the mind and the body.  The Children’s Musical Theatre helps develop confidence and the love for music and performing.

LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE

To the Teachers, Teacher Aides & Staff of Aheadstart,

As Nina ends this chapter of her life, we would like to thank all of you for the last 3 years of incredible learning & growth!

Thank You, Teachers, for your ready smiles and cheerful greeting each time Nina enters your room. You make her feel welcomed, loved and safe.

Thank you Teachers for accepting Nina as she is –mostly timid, occasionally chatty & sometimes wilful. At the same time you offered her opportunities to step out of her comfort zone. She has grown so much in the last 3 years and she could only have done this in an environment of love and acceptance.

A special thank you to all the Assistant Teachers for their patience and “malasakit” not just for Nina but all the kids.

Thank you for being such awesome partners in this journey and we are confident that Nina is ready to
start her new adventure because of all of you.

Here’s to more years of teaching lives of little kids and their families.
